At Sherwood House health, safety, and the wellbeing of our residents, staff and visitors is always our top priority

The most important aim for us in these challenging times is to ensure our residents continue to enjoy life in a safe environment while nurturing their wellbeing. Creating this safe environment is of the utmost importance to us and to enable this we have brought in a number of measures.

  • Safe Admissions policy
  • Regularly testing of staff and residents
  • Robust infection control measures
  • Enhanced cleaning regimes
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Virtual visits to stay in touch

  • Flow tests for visitors (rapid on-site testing with results available in 20-30 minutes)
  • Safe visits in designated areas

Sherwood House COVID-19 (Corona virus) UPDATE

The safety and wellbeing of our residents, relatives and staff is always our first priority. We regularly update procedures related to Covid-19 to provide the very best and safest service, following the very latest guidance from the Government and Public Health England (PHE)

We do have Lateral Flow Tests (LFDs) and the staff are tested twice weekly with the results in 30 minutes. They also do PCR tests weekly.

With new Government guidance for relatives to visit their loved ones within the care home from 8th March we have developed our visiting plan to enable this important step forward.

Our residents have had their first dose of the vaccine and so have most of the staff. This is very encouraging as it will enable us to return to a life that we recognise.

Thank you for your continued patience and support, we will keep you updated with any changes.
