Sherwood House employs its own in-house chefs to provide home-cooked, nutritious meals for our residents three times a day with snacks and refreshments.

Part of being an individual is our preferences at meal times. We aim to offer the best variety of fresh meals while also catering for specific dietary requirements.

In-house catering – the value of eating well

Good nutrition is vital for the health, independence and wellbeing of our residents, which is why Sherwood House employs its own in-house chefs to ensure fresh tasty meals are always provided three times a day, along with with snacks and refreshments. 

We also encourage meals within our activities programmes promoting the enjoyment of past times and stimulating favourable memories for residents.

At Sherwood House Care Home, we don't believe in a standard menus. Our talented chefs cook every meal fresh using the best seasonal ingredients. Any dietary requirements and catered for and where possible, we will always take note of each resident's personal preferences.

Eggs; bacon; sausage; grilled tomato; baked beans; fried egg; white/black pudding; hash browns; toast; cereal; porridge; croissants; crumpets.

Lunch (served with a selection of fresh vegetables or salad.)
Baked gammon; roast chicken; Shepherd's pie; steak & kidney pie; Irish stew; chicken stew with dumplings; sausage and mash; sweet potato curry; cauliflower cheese; Quiche Lorraine; chilli con carne or selection of freshly made sandwiches.

Syrup sponge & custard; chocolate sponge & custard; apple pie & cream; rhubarb crumble & custard; bakewell tart; trifle; meringues, strawberries & cream; selection of yoghurts.

Afternoon Tea
Selection of homemade cakes or fresh fruit

Soup of the Day (homemade with fresh vegetables)
Sweet pepper & carrot; Mediterranean tomato; broccoli & stilton; carrot & coriander; leek & potato.

Beans on toast; jacket potatoes with various fillings; ploughman's; cheese crackers; quiches; fish fingers & chips; macaroni cheese; salmon frittata; egg salad; sausage & beans on waffles.

Jelly; fruit cocktail; ice cream; creme caramel; selection of yoghurts; fruit meringues; mousse.
